While I am not new at this, there is just always more and more you can discover in the world of technology. While research can be fun too, my favorite bit of the process is to actually go out there and try things out. Naturally, there is a lurning curve with almost anything even if you are an experienced computer geek or whatever. But what’s important, is that you go out there and try. At least this is what said a computer and “blogger” specialist known as Elftronix on his awesome blog. And he has indeed created a thrilling website out of the simple subject of writing down his experiences with all kinds of computer related or even other stuff on the internet. For example fixing your WordPress problems, or perhaps finding your way to affiliate problems which are both topics that I am extremely interested in!
As someone who has excitement as his hobby, you need to be ready to learn from anyone when necessary. If something has taught me after reading the Elftronix blog over the years. It is that there is no one single best way to do things, or like solutions of that matter. For instance, one could endlessly fight against which is better, Joomla or WordPress. But having been able to solve many problems and find thrilling solutions using both of them.. I have come to the conclusion that both are best. And even if I am saying that, I will always keep my eyes open for the third even better solution which can come any time in the exciting future of ours.
Also it has been a huge motivator as a blogger in general, to see that simply sharing a very personal and even at times an intimate experience can be helpful for others. I could say it’s also the magic of Google as well as other search engines, where people are searching for what they are already interested in. In this moment when the person searches with that keyword, or a string of words that explain the problem they are having. There is a change for a meeting with someone who has already had that problem and found a solution for it. For me personally, I think that is just fantastic how the internet works in that way nowadays.
Greetings to the Elf man!
Some people like to think that exciting things are far away, or that you need to work hard in order to achieve them. This is not exactly right, at least according to us who are constantly achieving exciting things in life. That’s why I would like to emphasise, that the experience of getting to the point which could be considered exciting is what really matters over all. In fact, those who simply dream of exciting things or wait for them to happen in the future, will have great difficulty in having such experiences.
So just remember one rule and interesting stuff will happen today. And that is the fact, that life is exciting today. Not tomorrow, not yesterday. You have to think exciting to become exciting and that is the experience in itself. And that doesn’t mean that you should just be happy with the little you have. World is full of things to be experienced, just waiting for you. But before you change your way of thinking, no one is going to give you that satisfaction in life than yourself.
Be responsable, throw away your ego and enjoy the waves of life. It can be anything from becoming an acrobatic performer, to quiting your job and becoming what you really want, today.
And last but not least, it is adviced not to think too much. The experience is not words, it’s actions.
Bless your happiness,
M. Harvey Dudley.
When there is a performance in question and you want to get some excitement out of it. My style has always been to find a thrilling performance full of action and get tickets right to the front row. It has usually worked very well, with sometimes varying results of course. But sometimes there are those performances that never ever fail to grab your attention in new and exciting ways. Such as the Acrobat Show in Beijing that I had the opportunity to watch in China. In fact, after such an experience I feel very grateful for having witnessed a spectacle as exciting as this one, held at the Chaoyang Theatre venue right in the middle of the buzzing city action.
Sounds cool? It is cool! And forget about Cirque Soleil, I mean how are they still talking about that performance and comparing it to other acrobatics shows and circuses. The show at Chaoyang district will never compare, first of all it’s not circus but a highly skilful performance at a even highly respected old theatre in Beijing. The other things is, that if you were to come there with kids I would take caution. Since these feats that are performed there ever single day of the year are very dangerous and some youngster might get the wrong idea. Copying any of the stunts done there requires years of training, in fact if you didn’t start when you were a small child.. don’t expect to find yourself from the ranks of the Chaoyang spectacle.
Rarely have I witnessed such a show, but also an exciting crowd which made up half the atmosphere. I had no idea that Chinese could be so enthusiastic, and so loud. Sitting right in the middle of the action made my heart rush out at times. People were standing, and clapping as we saw more than a dozen acrobats balancing on top of each other, while rotating plates on top of long sticks (see picture above).
In one of the acts, they jump up and down a platform of sorts that goes almost up to the ceiling. It’s as if the huge theatre hall did not provide enough space for the heights the show wanted to take you. But as mentioned, the audience took care of the rest. I was clapping in the end so that my hands hurt. I wanted more, but I knew that when or if ever I need such a rush of excitement, I knew just the acrobatic show to go to. Only in Beijing!
All kinds of fighting is perhaps one of the most controversial ways to seek for excitement. Of course, because someone might get hurt for the expense of a thrill by someone else. Or is this all there is to it?
I happen to be a big fan of ultimate fighting sports events. Such as UFC, Dream and many other competitions, where people challenge themselves in one of the toughest fighting events of all time. What is particular about UF, is that it doesn’t represent a certain fighting style. Instead the competitors can use any kind of style or a combination of styles (recommended if wanting to win) with a few rules to prevent most extreme acts that could cost someones sight, sexual reproduction capabilities or even life. Yet, these shows are very life threatening in deed.
Not knowing much about it, one might see it as just plain fighting. However, it is far from that. Because it is all about technique. In such a sport, the only way to win is to know all the techniques and combine them together. Also one must be able to use them when the time is right, yes in ultimate fighting championships, timing is everything.
One of the most practiced martial arts that is often combined with the sport is Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. It is another great favourite of mine, because it does not concentrate on hitting opponents, or even strength. It is one of the biggest concentrations of technique only in martial arts today. Having practiced it and then watching it defeat even the biggest and toughest opponents, is extremely exciting. So yes, one must understand something about it to get such kicks. Enrolling in martial arts classes will help!
So as I promised I would get into some captivating and extremely fast paced stuff. This time I will travel to China to get to know one of the most ancient, yet powerful musical performances of our history. Known as the “Jiangzhou Drum Troupe“, this prominent group makes stunning performances all over mainland China.
What’s so exiting about this particular drum? It’s because the beat is made to echo through your body, directly into your heart and soul. Or at least that’s what they say.. but largely I think it’s because the drumming is so intense, in such big impressive groups.. as well as the fact that the troupe has practiced for so many years. In fact, the performing art is inherited from ancestor to ancestor, making it a deeply profound and respected form of excitement!
Jiang Zhou is a place in China where the drumming once began. But because of it’s huge popularity it is well known throughout China. While I would consider any kind of music exciting, this kind of drumming is something special in the genre of musical performances.
At the moment, the best place to catch a drum show from the Jiang Zhou Drum Troupe, is in Beijing. Highly recommended for those who are into theatre, or just like to have fun and enjoy a good drumming.
Whats exciting, until next time!
So I am going to start of with an easy one. A rather peculiar sport, which has become very famous through it’s participation in the Olympics. Yes, you know what I am talking about.. it’s the wonderful world of “Curling”.
While this could seem as the most boring sport in the world, there are plenty of people who find it extremely exciting. Originating from Scotland because of the special type of rock that can make the “stone”, which you play it with. Two teams, take in turns to try and glide the stone through the ice and hit a red centre position. To control the speed after the stone has been pushed, other members of the team may proceed to brush the ice in order to make the stone glide faster.
This brushing, which resembles a lot like cleaning a floor is what a lot of people laugh at. And rightfully so, it’s good to laugh at it. However, those who practice curling take great pride in the sport.
One must understand, that these huge (and expensive) rocks are powerful components of the game. All about technique, this is an intellectual game. But to understand it’s excitement, one has to practice it by themselves. This is what I recently did, and now, I am totally hooked! 😛
The definition of excitement is rather broad, in terms of what causes it. This website will observe some of the many interesting ways people get excited. It could be anything from sports to lap dancing, there is really no limit to it. Looking at people who are really enjoying themselves and learning from that is an experience in itself. For this reason, I started this project. I’ve always been interested in “what the hell” other people are doing. Especially what they do for kicks.
Besides analysing others, I will also explain some of my interesting hobbies and things that make my heart pump. This is not just a right for speed, but a look into life from all angels. After all, excitement is surely one of the reasons we live on this planet.
While a lot of it is a chemical reaction, a lot of it is a life long journey to find something that connects with one. While not everything connects with anyone, the search connects us all.
Oh and btw. there will be some speed included as well of course!
Your new buddy,
